You never fight a monster in Roblox The Hollow. If one catches you, you respawn in the hub without the Relic and your floor progress resets, so evasion is the whole strategy. The universal answer is to reach a safe room: rooms whose entrance has a blue static effect are safe zones, monsters will not walk into them, and the puzzle room and the elevator room are safe too.

Roblox The Hollow evade rules that hold everywhere

  • Blue static means safe. Any room whose entrance has the blue static effect is a safe zone.
  • The elevator ends the run. Step into it with the Relic and the floor is finished.
  • Keep the sound on. Audio cues tell you which direction a monster is coming from.
  • Run to safety, do not run past. If a monster is already on you, head for the nearest safe room rather than trying to squeeze past it, and use staircases and corners to break its line of sight.
  • Do not stand still. Several of them punish a stationary player specifically.

The counter for each monster

  • Floor 1, Seek. Black eyes appear on the walls and paintings when it activates. When you see them, stop searching and get into a safe room or the puzzle room. Running past other players helps shake it off, and stairways are good for breaking its line of sight.
  • Floor 2, Twisted Dandy. It hunts by sound, so avoid sprinting.
  • Floor 3, Biter. A fast close-quarters chaser that punishes standing still. Use closets and wardrobes to break it off.
  • Floor 4, The Deer. It ambushes in low-visibility areas, so stay in lit areas.
  • Floor 5, Hiachi. It gives flute audio cues that predict its patrol route and it will not cross open wooden bridges while chasing, so never sprint across one. If it has seen you, either break away or duck into a blue-static safe room and let it move on to another player.
  • Floor 6, Mimic. The floor is pitch dark, so a Flashlight or Night Vision Goggles is what makes evasion possible at all.
  • Floor 7, The Inspector. It detects you in direct line of sight, so keep out of its view and keep moving between the four pumpkins.
  • Floor 8, The Overseer. It has a wide field of view and controls the passages, so approach the pedestals from an angle it is not facing.

Gadgets that buy you an escape

Four utility items in the Little Shop of Terror make the hard floors survivable:

  • Flashlight — 20 Tickets. Shines a bright line into the darkness and can scare certain entities away.
  • Night Vision Goggles — 40 Tickets. Let you see in the dark and spot nearby entities.
  • Radar Detector — 80 Tickets. Tells you when an entity is near.
  • Invisibility Cloak — 120 Tickets. Makes you invisible so you can sneak past one.

All four are timed rather than permanent, so they need recharging between fights. The Tickets guide has each duration and recharge time, plus where the shop is.

Know which monster is hunting you

Each monster announces itself differently, and recognising the sign tells you which rule applies — the eyes on the wall mean Seek, the sound means Twisted Dandy is listening. The monsters guide lists all nine with the feature that gives each one away.
